Terms & Conditions

A clear understanding between us.

Effective May 13, 2026

Welcome

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the EEUM Building Project website at sdaunited.org and any related donation pages (together, the “Site”). By visiting the Site or making a donation through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

We have written these Terms in plain language. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the information you share.

About the Project

The EEUM Building Project is a fundraising effort conducted in support of the Eastern Ethiopian Union Mission (EEUM). The Site is operated to share information about the project, receive donations, and keep supporters informed of progress.

Eligibility

To make a donation through the Site, you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to make the contribution from your own funds or with proper authorization. By donating, you confirm that the payment information you provide is your own and that you are using it lawfully.

Donations

All gifts to the EEUM Building Project are voluntary. When you make a donation through the Site:

  • Donations are processed securely in U.S. dollars
  • Your gift will be applied to the Building Project, except where you have selected another designated fund
  • You will receive an electronic acknowledgment of your gift at the email address you provide
  • Donor recognition tiers, where listed, are honorary and do not entitle the donor to goods, services, or any controlling interest in the project

Refunds. Because donations are used promptly to advance the Building Project, gifts are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, was duplicated, or was unauthorized, please contact us as soon as possible and we will review the matter in good faith.

Tax deductibility. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law. We are not able to provide tax advice, and donors should consult their own tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any contribution.

SMS Messaging Program

The EEUM Building Project operates an optional SMS messaging program (the “Program”) for supporters who voluntarily opt in. The following terms apply to the Program.

Program name. EEUM Building Project SMS.

Description. Subscribers receive text messages directly related to this fundraising effort, including: a one-time welcome message confirming subscription, acknowledgments of donations you have notified us about, reminders for our online fundraising events streamed on YouTube, and periodic updates on the construction progress of the Building Project.

How to subscribe (opt-in). The only way to subscribe to the SMS Program is by texting the keyword JOIN to +1-361-400-0080 from your own mobile phone. We do not enroll phone numbers in the SMS Program through any donation or pledge form on this Site, through any printed materials, or through any in-person sign-up. The pledge form may optionally collect a phone number for one-off follow-up by our treasurer, but providing a phone number on the pledge form does not subscribe you to the SMS Program. By texting JOIN to +1-361-400-0080, you expressly consent to receive recurring SMS messages from the EEUM Building Project. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making any donation or pledge.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on project activity and event schedules. You may receive several messages per month at most.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply. The Program itself is free, but your mobile carrier may charge for sending or receiving text messages depending on your mobile plan.

How to unsubscribe. You may opt out of the Program at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. Your opt-out request is honored immediately, and you will receive a final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. No further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.

How to get help. Reply HELP to any message in the Program to receive support contact information, or email us anytime at contact@sdaunited.org.

Carrier disclaimer. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed.

Supported carriers. The Program is available on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, and most other major U.S. mobile carriers. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Carrier support may change at any time without notice.

Privacy. Your phone number, SMS consent records, and any messages you send to us by text are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer SMS data to any third party for any purpose, including marketing.

Make a Pledge

Commit today. Give when you're ready.

A pledge is a promise — not a payment. Tell us your intent and we'll add it to our projected total.

Phone is optional — we'll only use it if we can't reach you by email.

By submitting your pledge, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Thank you.

Your pledge has been recorded. We'll send a confirmation to your email shortly, and a gentle reminder near your target date.
